Brig Jen Dato’ Hj Semaon bin Hj Marjuki is a Senior Officer who joined the Army in 1985 at the Officer Cadet School, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan and later was commissioned in 1986 and assigned to 24th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (RMR), Kota Bharu, Kelantan. He has served more than 36 years with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). A highly competent and distinguished Senior Officer in dealing with people of various backgrounds and different levels of command. He has numerous academic backgrounds and had attended various courses both locally and abroad.

He had served with the United Nations (UN) in Namibia (1989-1990) as a Platoon Commander of the 17th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment for the United Nations Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG) mission. He had outstandingly commanded 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment, Semenggo Camp Kuching Sarawak from Mar 2007 until Nov 2009. He had served as the J7 Director of Exercise of MAF Joint Force Headquarters (JF HQ) since 5th Aug 2015 before being assigned as the Commander of Task Force Combat Battalion For Rapid Action 3 (TF COBRA 3) in the UAE from 1st Dec 2015 to 9th May 2016. He was given the honor once again by being appointed as the Army – United Nation Standby Force Commander on 27th Oct 2016, and as the 24th Commandant of Malaysian Army Combat Training Center (ACTC) on Feb 2017 or well known as PULADA.

He had experienced in Counter-Insurgency Warfare (CIW) operations against the communists since joining the service until the disarming of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) in 1989. He experienced in training, especially in providing various levels of skilled human resources through specific courses, i.e. as the Directing Staff (DS) at the ACTC, Ulu Tiram Johor, Chief Instructor (CI) of the Army Institute of Management (AIM) or well known as IPDA, Port Dickson Negeri Sembilan and DS at the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC), Kuala Lumpur. He was graduated from France War College in 2014.  He had also experienced in bilateral and multilateral training both locally and abroad with various foreign military forces. Among the exercises are EX MALINDO DARSASA – with the Indonesian Army (TNI AD), EX THAMAL – comprises the Thai Army, EX CARAT and MALUS AMPHEX – involving US Marines participation, EX FPDA – comprising of 5 nations (Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand), and EX COBRA GOLD in Thailand that involved 9 countries consists of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China. India, USA, South Korea, and Japan.

In recognition of his capability, professionalism, and ultimate commitment, he was promoted to Brigadier General and commanding the 10th Brigade (Para) from 1st Aug 2019 till 28th Nov 2020. He is equipped with vast knowledge in operational planning from tactical to a strategic level. Extremely qualified Senior Officer in human resources, training, and courses besides utmost involvement in a variety of military exercises either bilateral and at multilateral level with foreign countries. He possesses very strong leadership qualities in governing the organization and can work independently and in groups. He has conferred the Knight Companion or Dato’ Setia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS), Order of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, that carries the title Dato’ on10th Dec 2020 in conjunction with the 75th Birthday of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

He had successfully completed a year senior most course in the MAF i.e. National Resilience Course Cohort 2021 at the National Resilience College (NRC), PUSPAHANAS Putrajaya recently before assuming the 22nd Commandant of the MAFSC on 4th Jan 2022.

He is married to Datin Hjh Hafzilah binti Hj Mokmin on 28th May 1990 and blessed with four children (two sons and two daughters), and three 3 grandchildren. He fills his free time with going to the gym, pistol shooting, horse riding and golfing.
