MCSC SER 50/2021 UPDATES NO 15/2021 COMMANDANT’S UPDATE ON THE CONDUCT OF SEMESTER 2 MCSC SER 50/2021

Alhamdulillah, I am very glad that we are still together as a group and as a family of MCSC Ser 50/2021, despite everybody being basically confined in their own house and locality. However, it is a measure that needed to be taken by the college in support of the government’s approach to ensure that the pandemic remains manageable by the authorities.

Therefore, based on thorough and careful deliberation with NDUM and MAF HQ, the college has decided to resume physical classes on 2 Aug 21. This is in line with the college’s earlier plan, which is to proceed with Option 2 (Hybrid programme – Current methodologies with modified curriculum).

Ladies and gentlemen, this decision means that we will continue with online classes for another month, and we have to acknowledge that there are other aspects that should be planned in ensuring we will continue to excel in what we are doing. Hence, I would like to share some of my thoughts in assisting us to go through this phase.

  • Studies. Plan wisely and complete your assignments on time. The midterm exams are just days away, and please learn how the exams are going to be conducted online. NDUM and the college have taken several initiatives in ensuring that all CP will be familiarised with the way the exams are going to be conducted. As for your Compa, which is due in August, approach your supervisor regularly. They are there to assist you, and so does your lecturers and DS, if you have any clarification in your studies and difficulty understanding the lessons taught. Remember, we are moving from crawl to walk and soon into running in our phase of studies. So, your learning curve should reflect that too.
  • Health. Keeping yourself healthy, physically and mentally, is very crucial. Take time to exercise and ensure that you are eating healthy food. Please be careful as well if you buy food at the restaurants or stalls as these are usually the places where most people go. Ensure that it is a safe place with proper SOP that the operator has to follow. Do not take any risk and hope that you are safe from COVID infection. MySejahtera application is a good reference for this.
  • Work-life balance. For those with family members around, assist them in their daily tasks such as online studies for the children. Some of them are still too young to understand the challenges that we are facing. Help them in working out a disciplined schedule of studying. Show a good example. Prepare a comfortable work area or study space at home and have a set of ROE that your family members can understand and comply.

To all OCP and their families, I hope the current COVID situation will improve in the coming months so that you can explore and experience Malaysia’s rich culture and interesting places. It is very unfortunate that the present situation affects your plan to have your own adventure while you are here. Let us hope for the best days ahead and we will try to make the best of it.

Furthermore, I would like to assure you that the college will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that this course’s objectives are met. I admit that there are challenges, but we can overcome them with proper planning and cooperation from everybody.

Additional updates will be made to you as required. Stay safe and take care. I look forward to having everybody back in MAFSC soon. InsyaAllah.
