Langkawi, 22 May 25 – 60 Course Participants, Faculty Member Directing Staff (FMDS), and lecturers from the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) Siri 54/2025 undertook an official visit to the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025.

Centred at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), the visit provided a comprehensive look into a wide array of aerospace and defence capabilities. The delegation’s journey to Langkawi was supported by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), which deployed an Airbus A400M aircraft—offering not only seamless transport but also first-hand exposure to the operational role of the Armed Forces’ strategic airlift capability.

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to observe advanced military platforms and live aerial demonstrations, attend technical briefings by leading defence agencies, and engage directly with industry experts at exhibition booths hosted by prominent companies, locally or from international:

The objectives of the visit were threefold:

• Aerospace Industry Insight – To explore emerging technologies, air power capabilities, and aviation trends through engagement with key players and real-time aircraft demos.

• Maritime Security & Naval Innovations – To understand evolving naval strategies and innovations through interaction with international naval delegations and maritime defence experts.

• Defence Industry Collaboration – To strengthen awareness of the global and local defence ecosystem, and explore avenues for strategic partnerships and self-reliance in national defence production.

A key highlight was the breathtaking aerial display featuring aircraft from Malaysia and international partners—demonstrating not only tactical prowess but also the importance of multinational cooperation and regional interoperability.

The visit served as an enriching professional development platform, broadening strategic perspectives and deepening appreciation for current and future defence challenges. MAFSC extends its heartfelt appreciation to all who made this meaningful engagement a resounding success.
