𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗮𝘆𝗮, 𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟱 – The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) continues its tradition of recognising exemplary military leadership with the induction of General Rodolph Haykal, Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces (CIC LAF), into its distinguished Hall of Fame. Held at Dewan Hikmat, National Centre for Defence Studies (PUSPAHANAS), the induction ceremony was a highlight of General Haykal’s official visit to Malaysia, underscoring the deep-rooted ties fostered through professional military education. His induction as the 18th member reflects MAFSC’s dedication to honouring alumni who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and service at both national and international levels.
Brigadier General Zamsari bin Abu Hasan, Commandant of MAFSC, formally proclaimed General Haykal as the 18th member of the Hall of Fame, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to recognizing alumni who exemplify professionalism and strategic leadership. Chief of Defence Forces Malaysia, General Datuk Hj Mohd Nizam bin Hj Jaffar, conferred the honour in the presence of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency George Bitar Ghanem. The event brought together Malaysia’s top defence leadership, including Chief of Navy, Admiral Datuk (Dr.) Zulhelmy bin Ithnain; Chief of Air Force, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan RMAF; the Deputy Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Dato’ Tengku Muhammad Fauzi bin Tengku Ibrahim (representing the Chief of Army); members of the MAFSC Board of Governors; and distinguished attendees comprising senior officers of the Malaysian Armed Forces, DS and alumni of Cohort 45/2016, and participants of the Malaysian Command and Staff Course Joint (MCSCJ) Serial 54/2025.
Established in 1972, MAFSC has long been a pillar of excellence in professional military education, fostering leadership development and international cooperation. In 2004, the college introduced its Hall of Fame as its highest honour, recognising graduates who have ascended to senior leadership roles and made significant contributions to defence, diplomacy, and security. Beyond individual tributes, the Hall of Fame embodies the spirit of international military collaboration and professionalism, ensuring that the legacy of distinguished leaders continues to inspire future generations.
