𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐄, 𝟏𝟗 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) has successfully conducted a professional study visit to the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College (GKCSC) in SAFTI MI, Singapore. The visit, spanning two days, aimed to enhance regional military education, foster bilateral understanding and exchange perspectives on security, strategy and defence cooperation.
The main body, comprising directing staff and course participants, departed from PUSPAHANAS on 18 August and arrived in the afternoon. In the evening, the delegation visited the National Museum of Singapore, courtesy of GKS CSC.
The second day began with an official reception at GKCSC, where participants were welcomed wholeheartedly and were given the viewing of GKCSC’s corporate video. A keynote address was delivered by the Commandants of both GKCSC and MAFSC, setting the stage for deeper academic exchange. The programme included plaque and mementos presentations, as well as academic sessions led by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). The discussion focused on the Russia–Ukraine war, particularly on how it has transformed the nature of conventional warfare through the extensive use of AI, as well as its impact on humanitarian issues.
Following lunch, the delegation attended a briefing by ST Kinetics (Land System) Boon Lay, gaining exposure to Singapore’s defence technology and industry innovations. The visit concluded with changes of mementos between Commandant of MAFSC and Mr Tan Pek Tong, Deputy President, Head of International Business, Land System
This regional engagement not only enriched the participants’ understanding of contemporary military education and defence strategies but also reinforced professional bonds between Malaysia and Singapore. The visit underscored the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen regional stability and cooperation through continuous dialogue and collaboration.
