𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐚, 𝟐𝟕 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) successfully conducted the Southern Capabilities and Operational Studies (SCOS) visit for the Malaysian Command and Staff Course (Joint) 54/2025 from 26 to 27 August in Malacca.
The visit was designed to give participants a better understanding of the operational capabilities, readiness, and joint operations of Malaysian military formations in the southern region. The highlight of the programme was the engagement with the 3rd Malaysian Infantry Division, based at Terendak Camp, Malacca. At Terendak Camp, participants attended operational briefings, including:
• Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) capabilities by the 3 Div Royal Engineer Regiment.
• Operational updates on Op Merpati by the 2nd Regiment Armour Cavalry (2 RAC).
These sessions showcased the division’s role in tackling both conventional and non-traditional security challenges in its area of responsibility. In addition, international participants visited the Army Museum in Port Dickson and the Navy Museum in Malacca, where they learned more about Malaysia’s military history.
The SCOS visit not only enhanced participants’ knowledge of joint and combined operations but also strengthened professional bonds, encouraging the exchange of ideas between directing staff, participants, and host formations.
