The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering operational resilience as Course Participants (CP) of the Malaysian Command and Staff Course (Joint) Cohort 54/2025 undertook the deliberate planning phase of Ex BANTU AMAN conducted from 7 to 14 November 2025.
Held at MAFSC, the exercise served as a critical platform for CP to apply the Joint Military Appreciation Process (JMAP) in developing comprehensive Courses of Action (COA). Unlike previous iterations that focused on conventional threats, this exercise scenario centred on natural disaster response operations, challenging each Joint Operational Planning Group (JOPG) to prepare practical, coherent and coordinated plans for HADR missions. This shift reflects the adaptability of military planning in safeguarding lives and supporting national crisis-response priorities.
The exercise was graced by Brig Jen Zamsari bin Abu Hasan, Commandant of MAFSC, who was accompanied by Kolonel Ishak bin Ujang TUDM, Head of Training Development. Also joining the session was Puan Che Siti Noor binti Che Mamat from NADMA, who shared expert perspectives to ensure that military planning aligns effectively with the National Disaster Management Mechanism.
The exercise also featured the involvement of senior lecturers from the National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM), who were tasked to strengthen the alignment between academic studies and professional military education. Their contribution helped refine NDUM academic modules and establish a meaningful bridge between theoretical understanding and the practical military modules delivered in Semester 3, ensuring academic rigour complements operational applicability.
